CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The University of Louisville fell 24-3 to top-ranked North Carolina in an Atlantic Coast Conference matchup Sunday afternoon at Dorrance Field.

Olivia Scroggie collected a career-high 13 draw control wins in the contest. The sophomore now has 104 in her career. Erin Nicholson, Ella Berg and Reese Whiteman registered goals for the Cardinals (1-3, 0-2 ACC) while Haley Richards posted six saves in goal. In the game, the Tar Heels held a 28-4 advantage in shots on goal as Chloe Humphrey led all scorers with six goals and three assists. Louisville held a 15-14 edge in draw controls with Scroggie's 13 leading the way. Avery Johnston grabbed three ground balls and added one caused turnover

The Tar Heels (4-0, 2-0 ACC) scored five straight goals to open the game. Nicholson put the Cards on the scoreboard with a free position shot at the 9:07 mark for her fourth goal of the season. Carolina netted the next seven goals of the opening frame, including five by Humphrey, to take a 12-1 lead at the end of the first quarter.

North Carolina continued its scoring run with three more goals in the first six minutes of the second quarter, before Cardinals answered with back-to-back goals. Berg notched her seventh goal of the season with 3:12 left on the clock and Whiteman followed with an assist from Rian Adkins less than two minutes later with her team-best 10th goal of the season to make the score 15-3 at end of the half.

In the first 30 minutes of play, UNC outshot Louisville 27-5 with a 15-3 advantage in shots on goal. The Tar Heels also held an 11-10 edge in the draw control circle with Scroggie collecting nine – matching her career single-game high and marking 100 in her career. Haley Richards notched three saves while Carolina's Betty Nelson registering two stops.

North Carolina resumed its offense in the second half, delivering nine unanswered goals in the final two quarters to secure the 24-3 win.

The Cardinals will return to UofL Lacrosse Stadium to open up a three-game homestand starting on Wednesday when they play host to Canisius for a 12 p.m. game which will air on ACCNX.

•Berg has eight goals, standing second on the team. She has scored at least one goal in her last four games dating back to the Cardinals' season opener against Ohio State on Feb. 10.
• Rian Adkins collected Louisville's lone assist on the day. She extended her point streak to five, dating back to April 17, 2025.
• Freshman Avery Johnston led UofL in ground balls with three.Â
• Campbell Murray made her debut in net for the Cards, taking over for Richards to start the fourth quarter. She collected her first collegiate save with 01:38 left in the game, when she thwarted a UNC attack.
