LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville lacrosse team will hit the road for its Atlantic Coast Conference opener when the Cards take on Virginia Tech Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Beamer-Lawson Indoor Facility.Â

OPENING DRAW
• Louisville (0-1, 0-0 ACC) is coming off of a 11-10 double-overtime loss to Ohio State in Tuesday's season opener. In that game, the Cards overcame a 10-4 second-half deficit to force extra time, but the Buckeyes prevailed with 48 second remaining in double OT.
• Junior Reese Whiteman and sophomore Charlotte Jackson registered hat tricks against Ohio State and lead the Cardinals' offense with three goals apiece.
• Sophomore goalie Haley Richards collected 16 saves in her first collegiate start - the mark is tied for sixth on Louisville's all-time single-game list.
• The 2026 team captains include: Rian Adkins, Karli Harnischfeger, Cate Kangas, Maggie McMahon and Cece Reilly
• After losing eight seniors to graduation in 2025, Louisville will field a young roster with 11 freshmen and eight sophomores to go along with seven seniors and six juniors.
• The Cardinals return 23 letterwinners from last year's team which finished with a 7-10 overall record and a 1-8 mark in Atlantic Conference play.
• Head coach Scott Teeter is entering his ninth season at the helm. He carries a 193-204 in his 24th season as a head coach and a 48-84 mark at UofL.
