LOUISVILLE, Ky. — University of Louisville softball freshmen Addy O'Dell and Jayden Gohs have been named to the Softball America Freshman Watch List, recognizing the nation's top incoming Division I players ahead of the 2026 season.
O'Dell arrives in Louisville after a standout high school career at Newton Community High School in Illinois, where she established herself as one of the most dynamic all-around athletes in the state. A three-time all-state, all-conference and all-area selection, O'Dell was a key contributor to a regional championship team and made her mark with elite speed and versatility. She swiped 37 bases as a freshman and followed with a school-record 39 stolen bases on 39 attempts as a sophomore, while also excelling defensively and offensively throughout her prep career.
Gohs comes to Louisville from Goodrich High School in Michigan as one of the top two-way players in her class. A two-time all-state selection and NFCA High School All-America honoree, Gohs dominated both in the circle and at the plate. As a junior, she posted a 0.454 ERA with 339 strikeouts while also hitting .528 with 18 home runs and 66 RBIs. She helped lead Goodrich to back-to-back league and district championships and gained national experience competing with the Beverly Bandits Stone travel program.
The Softball America Freshman Watch List highlights newcomers expected to make an immediate impact at the collegiate level. O'Dell and Gohs join an elite group of freshmen nationwide as Louisville prepares for the 2026 season starting at the Felsberg Invitational, February 6-8.
