Five Cards Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Five student-athletes from the University of Louisville softball team were represented on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, as announced Tuesday. Bri Despines, Easton Lotus, Madison Pickens, Jordan Williams, and Alyssa Zabala earned the honor to represent the Cardinals.
This is Lotus' and Zabala's third CSC All-District honors of their careers and the second for Despines. Pickens and Williams are first-time honorees.
Despines finished her career earning NFCA First Team All-Region honors after posting a .402 batting average, 70 RBIs, 11 home runs, and 17 doubles in 58 games started this season. Lotus posted a .345 clip with 70 hits and five triples this season, starting all 58 games. Pickens, another First Team All-Region selection, broke a single season record with 74 RBIs and a .457 batting average this season. Williams ended the year with 60 hits and a .902 OPS with a program record 19-game hitting streak. Zabala, a Third Team All-ACC selection, led the team in strikeouts with 99 in 134 innings pitched this season.
