Louisville Grabs First ACC Win of the Season
Â
Quarterback Miller Moss went 33-of-51 for 339 yards, three passing touchdowns and one rushing touchdown. Moss threw to eight different receivers on the day, with wide receivers Chris Bell and Caullin Lacy combining for over 200 yards on 18 receptions. Bell was one of three receivers to catch a touchdown from Moss.
Â
The Louisville defense totaled 54 tackles and three interceptions. Linebacker TJ Quinn tallied five tackles and two interceptions, while defensive back Antonio Watts had four tackles and one interception.Â
Â
After a scoreless opening quarter for the Cards, Louisville scored its first 17 points in the second to tie it up. Pitt continued to add on in the late seconds of the quarter to lead 27-17 at the half.Â
Â
In the third quarter, kicker Nick Keller posted his second straight week with a 57 yard field goal, tying the longest field goal in program history that he made last week against Bowling Green.Â
Â
Pitt turned the ball over on downs to start off the final quarter before Moss tossed a 37-yard pass to Lacy to get UofL into the red zone. Moss followed that up with a 12-yard pass to Jaleel Skinner to knot the score at 27.
Â
On the following drive, Rene Konga sacked Panther quarterback Eli Holstein and TJ Quinn picked Holstein off on the next play to put the Cards back on offense at Pitt's own 30-yard line. Moss threw his third touchdown of the day to Nate Kurisky for Louisville's first lead of the game at 34-27 with 7:03 left on the clock.
Â
The UofL defense held it down in the final minutes, with Quinn grabbing his second interception of the day to finish out the game and seal the win.

Louisville Head Coach Jeff Brohm said:Â
"Without question, I am really proud of our football team. We hung in there and played until the end, we stuck together. We talk all the time - I know fans think you can just step on the field and win - how conference games will be just like this. For the remainder of the year, you're going to face good football teams, they have talent, they're well coached, they know how to play football and you've just got to hang in there. You strive for perfection but that's not realistic. To be down 17, find a way to tie it up, be down 10, find a way to take the lead [and] get multiple turnovers in the second half - our defense holding them to zero points - our guys did a great job. I thought the [Boston College] game comeback last year was great, but this one I think tops that. A huge win for our team, and I couldn't be prouder of them. They stood in there and took some blows, got right back up and kept swinging and fighting and found a way to get the victory."
