Brown Named to Walter Camp Award Watch List
August 17, 2026 | Football
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville running back Isaac Brown was selected to the Walter Camp 2026 FBS Player of the Year preseason watch list announced by the Walter Camp Football Foundation.
Brown was one of 50 players named to the watch list for the nation's fourth-oldest individual college football accolade.
The junior was previously named to the Maxwell Award watch list and has garnered All-ACC and All-America honors this preseason.
The Louisville running back has been one of the most explosive players in college football each of the last two seasons.
In his first two years with the Cards, Brown rushed for 2,057 yards in just 22 games, averaging 7.7 yards per carry with 18 touchdowns. The junior has 11 career 100-yard rushing performances, including six in nine games played last season.
The 2026 Player of Year watch list will be narrowed to 10 semi-finalists in early November and three finalists will be announced in early December. The 2026 Walter Camp Player of the Year recipient, which is voted on by the 138 NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision head coaches and sports information directors, will be announced in the second week of December.
Considered the "Father of American Football," Walter Camp introduced the play from scrimmage, set plays, the numerical assessment of goals and tries and the restriction of play to eleven men per side in 1880. Nine years later, Mr. Camp, then the Yale University head coach, selected the first-ever college football All-America team. The Walter Camp Football Foundation – a New Haven-based all-volunteer group – was founded in 1967 to perpetuate the ideals of Camp and to continue the tradition of selecting annually an All-America team.
