Lubin Selected to Wuerffel Trophy Watch List

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville defensive end Clev Lubin was named to the watch list for the 2026 Allstate Wuerffel Trophy announced by the Wuerffel Foundation on Tuesday.
Lubin was one of 113 nominees for the award that honors Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) players who lead through community service while excelling in the classroom and on the field.
Lubin has also been selected for the preseason watch lists for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy and Lott IMPACT Trophy.
The Suffern, N.Y., native is in his second season with the Cardinals. A third team All-ACC selection in 2025, Lubin notched 8.5 sacks and 13.5 tackles for loss, ranking fourth and seventh in the ACC, respectively.
A Spring 2026 graduate, Lubin posted a 3.31 cumulative GPA while earning his degree in communications. He was a 2025 All-ACC Academic Team selection and on the 2025-26 ACC Honor Roll and Spring 2026 Dean's List.
Lubin has also been active in the community since arriving in The Ville, volunteering his time at the holiday pop-up shop, the annual SAAC food drive and multiple visits to local elementary schools.
As college football's premier award for community service, the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy recognizes student-athletes who use their platforms to serve others and make a positive impact in their communities. Named after Danny Wuerffel, the 1996 Heisman Trophy winner and former University of Florida quarterback, the award reflects his lifelong commitment to leadership, service and unity.
