September 10, 2025 | Women's Soccer
Louisville went 7-1 during the non-conference portion of the schedule
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Louisville women's soccer team (7-1-0) is heading on the road to begin ACC play this week. The Cardinals are heading south to Tallahassee to take on the seventh-ranked Florida State Seminoles (4-0-1) on Thursday, September 11. The Cardinals and Seminoles are set to square off at 7 p.m. ET and it will be streamed on ACC Network Extra.
The Cardinals will take a six-game winning streak down to Tallahassee as they went undefeated over their recent six-game homestand. Louisville outscored their opponents 36-2 over those six games and had a clean sheet in five of the six games.
Louisville's offense remains one of the best in the country as they lead the NCAA in several offensive categories. The Cardinals rank first in the nation in goals (37), assists (42), points (116) and goal differential (+33). Louisville has already set a program record for assists in a single season just eight games into the 2025 campaign.
Sophomore midfielder Amelia Swinarski leads the NCAA in assists (9) and points (21) and picked up some honors this week. She was named ACC Co-Offensive Player of the Week and TopDrawerSoccer Team of the Week following her four-goal and eight-point week. She tallied a hat trick against Kent State and was the first Louisville player to record a hat trick since 2018. Swinarski is tied for the team lead with Mackenzie Geigle in goals (6) and the duo are tied for second in the ACC and tied for 11th nationally.
The Louisville defense has been stout during the non-conference portion of their schedule. The Cards have not allowed a goal over their last four games and have not allowed a goal in six of the eight games this season. It is the first time since 2019 that the Cards have recorded four shutouts in a row.
Following Thursday's clash with the Seminoles, the Cardinals return home to begin a three-game homestand. Up first will be the Virginia Tech Hokies on Sunday, September 14 from Lynn Stadium.
