No. 10 Seed Louisville Set to Face No. 7 Seed Virginia in ACC Championship

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The No. 10-seeded University of Louisville softball team is set to take on the No. 7-seeded Virginia Cavaliers in the first round of the ACC Championship on Wednesday, May 7. The Cardinals will play at 5 p.m. ET on the ACC Network.Â
Louisville concluded the season with a 26-24 overall record and a 9-15 mark in ACC play, placing them tenth in the conference standings. Throughout the regular season, the Cardinals showcased offensive strengths, notably leading the ACC with 24 triples. Freshman standout Char Lorenz contributed significantly, leading the team with 53Â RBIs, the highest among ACC freshmen, and the most for a freshman in a single season in program history. Additionally, both Chelsea Mack and Easton Lotus tied for first in the ACC with 18 stolen bases each.
Virginia had a strong season, finishing with a 33-14 overall record and a 13-8 record in ACC play, putting them at seventh in the conference. The Cavaliers won the regular season series against Louisville in April. After dropping the first game, Virginia bounced back to win the next two, securing the series victory.
The 2025 ACC Softball Championship begins Wednesday, May 7, and continues through Saturday, May 10, at the Harrington Athletics Village in Brighton, Massachusetts.
ACC Network and ESPN will provide live coverage of the 2025 ACC Softball Championship. The first three rounds will be broadcast on ACC Network, with additional studio coverage between games. ESPN will carry the championship game on Saturday.
Ticket books, which include access to all 11 games, including the championship game on Saturday, are priced at $45. Daily tickets are also available, with prices ranging from $12-20. Tickets are now available by visiting BCEagles.com or by calling the Boston College Athletics Ticket Office at 617-552-4622. Tickets purchased in advance will be sent via mobile delivery the week of the championship.
