Cardinals Host WKU in Second Matchup of the Season

Louisville is 22-3 all time against WKU, riding a 14-game win streak
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -Â The University of Louisville softball team will face off against Western Kentucky on Tuesday for the second time this season. The Cards will host the Hilltoppers at Ulmer Stadium at 6 p.m. on ACCNX.Â
UofL and WKU previously faced off on March 25, where Louisville prevailed 3-2 in Bowling Green. Junior Bri Despines and sophomore Jac Hasty led the Cardinal offense with two hits each. Despines also added a run and an RBI. Gray and Alyssa Zabala combined for the win in the circle, totaling five strikeouts and allowing just two runs.

Louisville's one win of the series came in a nine-inning match up that saw Maddi Grant score Ally Alexander on a double in the top of the ninth. Brooke Gray closed it out in the circle with only one hit given up through 2.2 innings of work. The Cards are now 3-0 when playing in extra innings.ÂUofL and WKU previously faced off on March 25, where Louisville prevailed 3-2 in Bowling Green.
