Cardinals Remain in Sixth After Day Two of Clemson Invitational

The Cards posted a 7-under-par 281 in the second round
CLEMSON, S.C. — The University of Louisville women's golf team continued to play well at the Clemson Invitation as they played 27 total holes between the second round and the beginning of the third round on Saturday. In the second round, the Cardinals posted a 7-under-par 281, the lowest team single round of the season. Over the first nine holes of the third round, the Cardinals are 3-under-par 140 and they sit in sixth place overall.
Louisville has three players in the Top 20 of the individual leaderboard with nine holes remaining on Sunday. Freshman Veronika Exposito is leading the way for the Cards as she is tied for 14th overall at 6-under-par. She posted a 2-under-par 70 in the second round and is 3-under-par through the first part of round three. She had six birdies over her 27 holes on the day.
One shot behind her is Thienna Huynh at 5-under-par and 18th overall. Huynh also carded a 2-under-par 70 in the second round and is 1-under-par through the first nine holes of the third round. She also had six birdies on the day.
Carmen Griffiths is a shot behind Huynh at 4-under-par and tied for 19th overall. She was also 2-under-par 70 in the second round and is at even-par 36 through the first nine holes of round three. Similar to Exposito and Huynh, Griffiths also had six birdies on the day.
Beatriz Barrios and Bailey Burkett are both tied at 45th overall at 2-over-par. Barrios was 1-under-par 71 in the second round and 1-over-par to start the third round. Burkett was 1-over-par 73 in the second round and even-par 36 through the first nine holes of the third round.
Rounding out the squad is Millie Cottrell at 9-over-par and in 75th overall. She was 4-over par 76 in the second round and 1-over-par in the third round.
