
Cardinals Finish Sixth at Clemson Invitational

The Cards finished ahead of five teams ranked in the Top 60
CLEMSON, S.C. — The University of Louisville women's golf team closed out the Clemson Invitational in sixth place after the final round of action Sunday afternoon at The Reserve at Lake Keowee. After playing nine holes of the third round on Saturday, the Cardinals closed out the final round with a 5-under-par 283 to finish 15-under-par 849 for the tournament. The 849 team tournament score is tied for second for the lowest team tournament score in program history.
Carmen Griffiths fired a season-low 3-under-par 69 in the final round to finish the tournament tied for 10th overall. She was 7-under-par 209 for the weekend, the lowest tournament score for her since the fall of 2022. Griffiths tallied six birdies over her final round and it is her fourth Top 10 finish of the season.
Thienna Huynh put together her best tournament in a Louisville uniform as she finished the weekend 6-under-par 210 and tied for 15th overall. She was under par in all three rounds for the first time this season and set a career best for lowest 54-hole score.
Continuing the trend of the weekend, Veronika Exposito had a career best tournament as she finished 5-under-par 211 and tied for 21st overall. Heading into the weekend, her season-low 18 hole score was 72 and she bested that in all three rounds of the tournament. She joins Griffiths and Huynh with all three rounds below par.
Bailey Burkett tied a season-best with a 1-under-par 71 in the final round on Sunday. She finished the tournament with a season-best 1-over-par 217 and was tied for 41st overall.
Beatriz Barrios set a season-best tournament score with a 3-over-par 219 to finish tied for 48th overall. She had one round under par this weekend and fired a 2-over-par 74 in the final round on Sunday.
Millie Cottrell finished tied for 72nd overall at 10-over-par 226. She shot a weekend low 2-over-par 74 in the final round on Sunday.
That concludes the regular season for the Cardinals as the postseason is on the horizon. Up next will be the ACC Championships, held at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina. The tournament will begin on Wednesday, April 16 and will conclude on Saturday, April 19.
