
Cardinals Prepare for ACC Championship

This year’s event will be held in the Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, NC
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Louisville women's golf team is set to begin the postseason this week as they head out for the 2025 ACC Championship. The event will be held at the Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C. and it will begin on Wednesday, April 16.
With the addition of the new three ACC schools, the format has changed from years past. On day one, the first and second round of stroke play will be played. On day two, the third and final round of stroke play will be completed. For day three, the six highest scoring teams will advance to the match play portion where the first round and semifinals of the match play will occur. On day four, the final match play round will determine the ACC champion.
Competing for the Cardinals this week will be Carmen Griffiths, Thienna Huynh, Veronika Exposito, Beatriz Barrios, Bailey Burkett and Millie Cottrell.
Griffiths will be in her fourth ACC Championship as she has been in each of the last three for the Cardinals. Her best overall finish came in 2022, when she tied for 35th overall at 12-over-par 228. Last season, she finished tied for 38th overall at 6-over-par 222.
Barrios will be competing in her second ACC Championship after making her first appearance last season. She played in all three rounds and finished 7-over-par 223 and was tied for 42nd overall. Cottrell was also involved in her first ACC Championship last season, as she competed in the first round of the stroke play competition.
This will be Huynh's first ACC Championship after playing her first two collegiate seasons at UNLV. Burkett and Exposito will also be in their first trip to ACC's as they are competing in their freshman seasons.
The Cardinals will begin round one Wednesday morning starting on Hole No. 1. The first tee time will be at 9:10 am and the final tee time will be at 9:50 am.
