
Cardinals in Seventh Place After First Two Rounds of ACC Championship

Louisville has three players in the Top 20
GREENSBORO, N.C. — The Louisville women's golf team is sitting in seventh place after the first two rounds of the ACC Championship at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro on Wednesday. The Cardinals rebounded with an even-par 288 in the second round to move into seventh place to conclude the first day of stroke play.
Louisville has a trio of players in the Top 20 after the first two rounds of play. Carmen Griffiths finished the day tied for 13th overall at 2-over-par. She put together the best round of any Louisville player in the second round with a 4-under-par 68 with five birdies and an eagle.
Bailey Burkett and Veronika Exposito are tied for 18th overall at 3-over-par. Exposito was 1-over-par 73 with three birdies in the second round. Burkett was 2-over-par 74 in the second round with two birdies and an eagle.
Beatriz Barrios carded a 1-over-par 73 in the second round and is tied for 58th overall at 12-over-par. Thienna Huynh had a 4-over-par 76 in the second round and is tied for 47th overall at 8-over-par.
Burkett led the Cards in the first round after shooting a 1-over-par 73 in the morning session. She had a team-best four birdies in the first round.
Exposito carded a 2-over-par 74 in the first round. She had a birdie and an eagle, both on the back nine holes, in the morning session of play.
Huynh was 4-over-par 76 in the first round with two birdies. Griffiths tallied a 6-over-par 78 in the first round. Rounding out the team in the morning session was Barrios with an 11-over-par 83.
The Cardinals will be back on the course for the final round of stroke play on Thursday. The top six teams will advance to the match play portion of the championship later in the week. Fans can follow along with the live stats here or by following our social media channels.
