Cardinals Send Three to Finals After Day 4 Prelims at NCAA Championships

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. -- The No. 11-ranked University of Louisville men's swimming & diving team will send two Cardinals into the Day 4 finals of the 2025 NCAA Division I Men's Swimming and Diving Championships after Saturday's prelims at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center.

Freshman Filip Kosinski clocked in at 1:40.77 to finish 8th in his heat and 28th overall. Texas' Hubert Kos put up the fastest time in the field with a 1:36.08 to be the favorite in tonight's finals.

Sprinter Guy Brooks boarded a 42.32 in the 100 freestyle to touch third in his heat and ranked 37th overall. Jordan Crooks of Tennessee broke an NCAA record in prelims with a time of 39.83 to earn lane 4 this evening in the championship final.

In the 200 breaststroke, Louisville put two Cardinals in the championship finals led by freshman Jake Eccleston's school record 1:50.19 that seeds him sixth going into tonight's finals. Denis Petrashov, runnerup in the 100 breast, boarded a 1:50.23 to qualify seventh in the championship final tonight.

In the 200 fly, Tommy Bried had an outstanding final lap to put up a 1:41.29 and finish third in his heat and 20th overall. In the same heat, freshman Gregg Enoch stopped the clock at 1:42.22 for sixth in that heat to place 32nd. Gianluca Urlando of Georiga 1:37.35 will be the top seed tonight.  .Â
