Louisville Welcomes No. 19/21 Duke in Weekend Series

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville softball team will host No. 19/21 Duke at Ulmer Stadium this weekend for its fourth ACC series of the season.

The Cards (20-12, 3-6 ACC) grabbed a 3-2 victory over in-state opponent Western Kentucky on Tuesday night in Bowling Green. Alyssa Zabala and Brooke Gray combined to strike out five batters while only allowing two runs. Char Lorenz added to her team-leading 43 RBIs when she singled in Chelsea Mack during the first inning against the Hilltoppers. Riley Janda also swiped her seventh stolen base of 2025.

Games against the Blue Devils will be played Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with first pitches set for 6 p.m., 2 p.m. and 12 p.m., respectively. Friday and Sunday games will be broadcast ACCNX with Saturday's game featured on the ACCN.

Char Lorenz was named the No. 1 ACC Freshman in the Softball America Midseason Freshman Rankings. Lorenz leads all UofL hitters with 43 RBIs and six home runs while hitting a .330 clip.
The trio of Lorenz, Chelsea Mack and Easton Lotus sit at first, second and third in the ACC in stolen bases. Mack leads with 15, Lotus has grabbed 14 and Lorenz owns 11.
Louisville is second in the ACC in triples this season with 19. The Cards lead the conference in total stolen bases with 76.

Infielder Aminah Vega owns a team-best .417 hitting percentage. Vega has 45 hits on the year, including 12 doubles and four home runs.
Marissa Young is in her eighth season at Duke. She has a 287-118 record with the club and led the Blue Devils to their first Women's College World Series appearance in 2024.
