Cardinals in Seventh Place After First Two Rounds of Betsy Rawls

Freshman Veronika Exposito is leading the Cards in a tie of 23rd overall
AUSTIN, Texas — The Louisville women's golf team is sitting in seventh place overall after the first two rounds of the Betsy Rawls Invitational on Monday at the University of Texas Golf Club. The Cardinals put it together in the second round as they moved up three spots in the leaderboard heading into the final round. Louisville is sitting at 44-over-par 620 through the first two rounds of the tournament.
Veronika Exposito led the way for the Cardinals through the first two rounds. She is tied for 23rd overall at 10-over-par 154 and is the highest Louisville player on the leaderboard. In the second round, Exposito posted a 3-over-par 75 with one birdie on the round. Expositio was 7-over-par 79 in the first round.
One stroke behind Exposito is Carmen Griffiths, who is tied for 26th overall at 11-over-par 155. Griffiths had a team-best 2-over-par 74 in the second round and had a team-high three birdies. Griffiths recorded an eagle in the opening round but ended up with a 9-over-par 81.
In the first round, Thienna Huynh led the Cards with a 5-over-par 77 and had one birdie on the round. In the second round, she was 7-over-par 79 with two birdies on the round. Huynh is tied for 32nd overall at 12-over-par 156 through 36 holes.
Gabbi Bentancourt rebounded well in the second round as she posted a 4-over-par 76. She had one birdie in the second round of the day and is tied for 50th overall at 16-over-par 160. In the first round during the morning, Bentancourt was 12-over-par 84.
Bailey Burkett rounded out the squad in a tie for 59th overall at 18-over-par 162. Burkett was 7-over-par 79 in the first round and 11-over-par 83 in the second round.
