Cardinals Finish Seventh at Betsy Rawls Invitational

Three players finished tied for 20th overall
AUSTIN, Texas — The Louisville women's golf team closed out the Betsy Rawls Invitational in seventh place after the final round from the University of Texas Golf Club Tuesday afternoon. In the final round, the Cardinals put together a 22-over-par 310 to finish the tournament at 66-over-par 930. The Cardinals finished in the top half of the 14-team field and finished ahead of No. 33 UNLV.
The Cardinals had a trio of players that finished tied for 20th overall at 15-over-par for the tournament in Veronika Exposito, Carmen Griffiths and Thienna Huynh. Of the trio, Huynh put together the best final round of any of the Cardinal players on Tuesday. She shot a 3-over-par 75 for her best 18-hole score of the tournament. She finished strong with two birdies on the back nine holes.
Griffiths shot a 4-over-par 76 in the final round on Tuesday. After a rough start on the front nine, Griffiths put together a great back nine to close the tournament. She birdied four of the final seven holes and shot 1-under-par over the final nine holes.
Exposito carded a 5-over-par 77 for the day on Tuesday. She finished the final round with one birdie on the back nine for her fifth Top 30 finish this season.
Gabbi Bentancourt and Bailey Burkett rounded out the group for the Cardinals. Bentancourt finished tied for 59th overall at 27-over-par 243 after a final round 83. Burkett was one stroke behind Bentancourt with a 28-over-par 244 after a final round 82 and tied for 61st overall.
The Cardinals return to campus to get ready for their final tournament of the regular season starting next weekend. The Cards will head south to Clemson for the Clemson Invitational, which begins on Friday, March 28.
