The Big Red defeat the Cards 4-1

ITHACA, N.Y. - The University of Louisville men's tennis team fell to Cornell 4-1 on Friday afternoon at the Reis Tennis Center.

Cornell took the doubles point to start the match. The Big Red duo of Rushil Khosla and Eric Verdes took down the Cards pair of Miguel Avendaño and Andre' Steinbach 6-1 on Court two before clinching the point on Court three with a 6-3 win over Will Mayew and Hamza El Amine.

Mayew was the first to finish in singles competition, winning his court 6-1, 6-1 to tie the match for the Cards.

Cornell then took down Louisville's three, five, then one courts to clinch the match 4-1. Courts two and six were both split and abandoned.

The Cards (5-4) will be back in action on Sunday at noon, facing Harvard at the Beren Tennis Center.
