Cards Set To Begin Six-Match Road Trip

Louisville Travels to Face Ivy League Talent in Cornell and Harvard
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville men's tennis team hits the road for a six-game stretch of away matches. They will begin with a trip to Cornell to face the Big Red on Friday at 1 p.m. before traveling to Harvard to play the Crimson on Sunday at noon.Â
Louisville (5-3) split their Sunday doubleheader at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center. Kentucky took the Battle of the Bluegrass 4-0, but the Cards were able to redeem themselves with a 4-2 victory over Belmont in the second match of the day.Â
UofL's four points were all won in singles match ups. Miguel Avendaño, Enrique Peña, Kosuke Nakanishi and Will Mayew all were victorious on their courts. Peña earned his second win of the year with a dominant 6-1, 6-1 win on Court 5.Â

Scouting the Big Red: Cornell last played in ITA Kickoff weekend where they fell 2-4 to Vanderbilt before beating Old Dominion 4-1 in the consolation game. Last season, the Big Red went 19-7 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament before falling to the 2024 champions TCU 4-0.Â

Scouting the Crimson: According to the latest ITA singles poll, Harvard has ranked singles players: Daniel Milavsky (28) and Peter Benjamin Privara (86), The Crimson duo of Masato Perera and Benjamin Privara come in at 21 in the latest ITA doubles ranking. Last season, Harvard went 22-7 and made it to the round of 16 in the NCAA championship.Â
