Ahouda and El Amine claimed a doubles victory in the loss
DALLAS - The University of Louisville men's tennis team dropped its match to SMU by a score of 4-0 Sunday afternoon at the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex.
SMU (16-9, 6-4 ACC) claimed the first doubles victory on court two before Hamza El Amine and Walid Ahouda evened up the competition with a 6-3 win on the top court. The Mustangs clinched the point with a 6-2 victory on court three.Â
The Mustangs carried the momentum into singles competition, taking down Louisville's one, four then five courts. Freshman Jerald Carroll was the only Cardinal to win a set and was beginning a third set when the match was abandoned.Â
Louisville (16-10, 4-6 ACC) will remain on the road to face Virginia Tech on April 3 with first serve set for 4:30 p.m. ET.
