Louisville Men's Tennis Wraps Up Weekend at Fighting Irish Mini Duals

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The University of Louisville men's tennis team spent the weekend in South Bend, Ind., where they participated in the Fighting Irish Mini Duals. The Cardinals were represented by Hamza El Amine, Matei Onofrei, Jerald Carroll and Lucas Bazin.

Louisville tallied 12 victories over the three-day tournament, three in doubles and nine in singles. Carrol led the team in singles victories with three, the remaining Cards each earning two.

Louisville debuted two new doubles pairings this weekend in El Amine/Onofrei and Bazin/Carroll. El Amine and Onofrei claimed two doubles victories, while Bazin and Carroll gained one doubles victory.

Of the tournament's main draw, El Amine and Onofrei received the No. 1 seed for doubles. Their 3-0 victory over DePaul's Andy Hadziabdic and Alex Haage advanced the duo to the quarterfinals. Bazin and Carroll also advanced to the tournament's quarterfinals.

The Cardinals will return to action this weekend, as they host the Louisville Invitational at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center. The tournament will kick off Friday and run through Sunday.
