Louisville Men’s Tennis Concludes Split Weekend at ITA All-Americans and Cincinnati Invitational

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men's tennis team sent Matei Onofrei to the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla., and the remaining Cardinals to the Rocky Top Invitational over the weekend.

Junior Onofrei competed in the prequalifying draw of ITA All-Americans on Saturday morning. The Iasi, Romina native fell to former Louisville teammate Will Mayew, who now plays for the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. Onofrei claimed the first set 6-3, before dropping the last two sets 1-6, 4-6.

At the Rocky Top Invite, Louisville captured 10 wins, 3 in doubles and 7 in singles. Maksim Hristov went undefeated (3-0) in singles play, and captured a doubles win with fellow freshman Artem Dmytrenko.

The Cards hit the road again this weekend, as they travel to South Bend, Ind., to compete in the Fighting Irish Mini Duals Sept. 25-27.
