
Louisville Drops Road Match at Harvard

Cardinals fall to Crimson 6-1
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – University of Louisville men's tennis fell to Harvard 6-1 on Sunday afternoon, the second of five straight road matches.
While Natan Rodrigues and Kosuke Nakanishi repeatedly battled points back and forth on Court 1 in doubles, the Harvard Crimson took control on Courts 2 and 3 and quickly seized the doubles point with victories on those courts.
The Cardinals dropped Courts 1, 5 and 4 all in straight sets, allowing Harvard to clinch the match. The Crimson picked up its fifth point on Court 3 as Will Mayew fell to his opponent 6-3, 6-3.
Andre' Steinbach won the opening set on Court 2 in singles, defeating his opponent 6-2. He dropped the second set but went on to win a thrilling third set tiebreaker 11-9 to claim Louisville's lone point of the match.
Piet Steveker battled back in his singles match, claiming the second set 7-5 and forcing the third set tiebreaker. After a long fight, he ultimately fell in the third set 9-11, dropping the sixth and final point to Harvard.
Louisville will be back in action on Saturday at IU in Bloomington, Ind., at 3 p.m. ET.
