The University of Louisville lacrosse team will continue its early season road swing with a trip to Milwaukee, Wis., where the Cardinals will take on  Marquette Monday at 1 p.m. (ET) at Valley Fields Dome.
Opening Draw
• The Cardinals enter the game with a 2-1 record after falling to Ohio State on Saturday.
• Louisville secured a notable 10-8 victory over then-No. 15 Denver in its season opener.
• Louisville stands at No. 19 in the USA Lacrosse poll and is receiving votes in the IWLCA poll.
• Junior Negai Nakazawa leads the team with nine points (5G, 4A) and has a team-high nine draw controls.
• Lauren Figas is tied with Nakazawa with a team-best five goals.

Marquette enters Monday's contest with a 1-0 record following a win over Marquette is coming off a 17-5 win at Central Michigan in its 2025 season opener on Wednesday. Meg Bireley had four goals while Tess Osburn, Isabelle Casucci and Hanna Bodner recorded hat tricks.
• Marquette was picked to finish fifth in the BIG EAST Conference following a 6-11 (2-4 BIG EAST) campaign in 2024. Meg Bireley was tabbed the BIG EAST Preseason Offensive Player of the Year and was joined by Tess Osburn on the preseason all-conference team.
• Head coach Meredith Black enters her 13th season and 14th year at Marquette. She was named the first head coach in Marquette women's lacrosse history prior to the inaugural 2013

• The Cardinals fell to Ohio State 9-6 on Saturday in their first road test of the season.
• Six different Cardinals found the back of the net, with Erin Nicholson, Maggie McMahon, Izzy Seikel, Ella Berg, Reese Whiteman, and Negai Nakazawa each scoring one goal.
