The Cards travel to Lipscomb for the first time in the series history in which they lead 2-1.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The University of Louisville men's soccer team will make its final road trip of the regular season on Tuesday, traveling to Nashville, Tenn. to face Lipscomb at 8 p.m. ET at the Lipscomb Soccer Complex. The match will stream live on ESPN+.
The Cardinals (5-5-3, 1-5-1 ACC) enter the midweek contest following a 1-1 draw at Wake Forest on Friday. Freshman Quinton Wilson delivered the equalizer in the 69th minute – his team-leading third goal of the season – to help Louisville secure a valuable point on the road. The Cardinals continue to showcase defensive consistency, conceding just 11 goals through 13 matches with six shutouts on the year.
Louisville holds a 2-1 advantage in the all-time series against Lipscomb, including a 4-2 victory last season at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium. Tuesday's matchup will be the first meeting between the two programs in Nashville. Head coach John Michael Hayden has history with the Bisons, having served as an assistant coach at Lipscomb from 2013-14. During his two-year stint, he helped guide the program to a record-setting 12-4-1 campaign and an ASUN regular-season title in 2014.
Offensively, the Cardinals have seen contributions from across the roster with 13 different players recording either a goal or an assist this season. Redshirt sophomore Chase Vazquez and freshman Quinton Wilson pace the attack with three goals each, while sophomore Michael Lee and freshman Nicholas Parham have added two apiece. Defensively, redshirt junior goalkeeper Alex Svetanoff anchors the unit, playing every minute this year with a .784 save percentage.
Lipscomb (1-8-4, 0-2-2 ASUN) picked up its lone victory of the season in August, defeating Mercer 2-0. The Bisons are led by Levi Jones and Diego Ramirez, who have each tallied two goals this fall.
Following Tuesday's match, Louisville will return home for its final two games of the regular season, hosting Evansville on Oct. 27 and Pittsburgh on Oct. 31 at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium.
