Women's Tennis Kickoff Fall Season with the Miami Invitational

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville women's tennis team will kick off its fall season Friday as they travel to Oxford, Ohio to compete in the Miami Invitational, hosted by Miami (Ohio) University. The tournament will run throughout the weekend, beginning on Friday morning and will wrap-up on Sunday afternoon.Â
The invitational will follow a hidden dual format with the Cardinals facing squads from Xavier, Miami, and Middle Tennessee State in singles and doubles action.Â
UofL's first match is slated for 10:30 a.m. on Friday as they take on Xavier in singles action. The Musketeers are the reigning Big East Champions after boasting a 19-6 record during the regular season.Â
Louisville returns five players from last year's squad to go along with incoming freshman Elisabeth Lila and junior transfer Alice Otis. Among those returning for the Cards are sophomores Lika Peresypkina and Germany Davis who led the Cardinals in singles wins with seven apiece.Â
The Blue Raiders return nine players from the 2023-24 season, where they finished 11-13 overall.
The Redhawks return seven players from the previous season, finishing with a 13-12 record after advancing to the second round of the MAC tournament.
