
Else Praasterink Finishes 12th in Olympic10M Platform Finals

Else is first-ever Cardinal Diver to reach Olympic Finals
PARIS -- University of Louisville diver Else Praasterink finished 12th in the finals of the 10M Platform Diving at La Defense Arena at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

Diving for her native Netherlands, she scored a 52.20 on her 205B and a 44.80 on her 305C. She scored a 45.00 on her 107B and put up a 57.60 on her 407C on her highest difficulty dive (3.2). She boarded a 50.75 on her 5152B on her final dive for a total of 250.35.

After placing 15th in preliminaries with a score of 281.60, Praasterink finished 12th  in the semifinals to snag a slot in the finals. The first-ever Louisville Cardinal diver to compete at the Olympics, she is also the first finalist.

Seventeen-year-old Chinese diver Hongchan Quan put up a 425.60 and teammate 18-year-old Yuxi Quan (420.70) won the gold and silver. Mi Rae Kim of Korea took the bronze with a score of 372.10.

The 10M Platform marks the end of competition for the aquatic Cardinals in the Paris Olympic Games.
