Loktev Finishes 16th in the 200 freestyle at the Paris Olympics

Sibirtsev up next in 800 free on Monday morning
PARIS -- University of Louisville swimmer Denis Loktev finished 16th after swimming in the semifinals of the 200M freestyle in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games Sunday at the Paris La Défense Arena.

Swimming for his native Israel, Loktev boarded a 1:47.93. The semifinals were won by David Popovici, who put up a 1:44.53 to be the leader going into tomorrow's finals.

The Cardinals will have Ilia Sibirtsev competing in the 800 freestyle for Uzbekistan on Monday morning.
