The Cardinals will play 12 matches at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium this fall.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men's soccer program and head coach John Michael Hayden have announced the 2024 schedule for the Cardinals.
Louisville will play 16 regular season matches and two exhibitions, 12 of which will be played at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium.
The Cardinals will play seven regular season matches against teams that reached the postseason in 2023, including home matches against both teams that played for the national championship.
Louisville will test itself with a pair of exhibition matches prior to the start of the regular season. The Cardinals will hit the pitch for the first time on Aug. 10 at home against Belmont. Louisville will then host its annual exhibition against Indiana on Aug. 17, a team that reached the national quarterfinals last season.
The regular season gets underway on Aug. 22 with a home match against Jacksonville. The Cardinals then head on the road for a return match at Tulsa after defeating the Golden Hurricane 1-0 in last year's season opener.
The rest of Louisville's non-conference slate features home matches against Bellarmine (Sept. 2), UAB (Sept. 24), Lipscomb (Oct. 8), Evansville (Oct. 16) and Milwaukee (Oct. 22).
The annual rivalry match against Kentucky will take place on Sept. 9 in Lexington. The Cardinals won the 2023 matchup 4-2 in Louisville.
Conference play begins on Sept. 6 against national runner-up Notre Dame at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium. Louisville's other ACC home matches include Syracuse (Sept. 20), reigning national champion Clemson (Oct. 12) and new ACC member SMU (Nov. 1).
The Cardinals will travel for conference contests at Pitt (Sept. 13), Boston College (Sept. 29), new ACC opponent Cal (Oct. 4) and NC State (Oct. 27).
Louisville posted a 12-6-3 overall record in 2023, reaching the NCAA Tournament for the fourth time in Hayden's five seasons at the helm of the program.
