Cards Fall to Top-Seed Syracuse in ACC Quarterfinals
April 24, 2024 | Women's Lacrosse
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The University of Louisville women's lacrosse team closed out their 2024 season, falling to one-seeded Syracuse, 17-8 on Wednesday afternoon. The Cardinals will end the season with an 8-11 (3-7 ACC) record.
Louisville entered the ACC Tournament at the nine-seed, beating eight-seed Virginia Tech last Sunday and grabbing their first ACC Tournament win in program history.
"The girls left it all on the field today," said Head Coach Scott Teeter. "They played hard. Thank you to our seniors and fifth years, we wish them the best going forward."
Rian Adkins led the team with a career-high three goals and Kylea Dobson added two goals. Allegra Catalano had one goal and one assist while also picking up three ground balls.
Nicole Perroni tied the all-time caused turnover record of 107, adding two against the Orange. Graduate Sydney Kirchenheiter played her 79th game this afternoon, setting a new program record for games played.
"It's great for Sydney to get the program record," said Teeter. "It really shows who she is as a person and exemplifies her strong work ethic and dedication."
