Cardinals in 10th Place After First Day of ACC Championships

Griffiths, Ryskova lead the team at 1-over-par and tied for 29th
WILMINGTON, N.C. — The University of Louisville women's golf team is in 10th place after the opening round of the 2024 ACC Championships. Being held at Porters Creek Country Club in Wilmington, the Cardinals are 8-over par 296 as a team after the first round concluded Thursday afternoon.
Carmen Griffiths is one of the leading individuals for the Cardinals after the first 18 holes. She started her round with four birdies on the back nine and finished the day tied for 29th overall at 1-over-par 73. Hana Ryskova is also tied with Griffiths at 29th overall after a 1-over-par 73. She tallied two birdies during her opening round.
Competing in her second ACC Championships, Rylee Suttor is tied for 36th after shooting a 2-over-par 74 in the first round. After starting on the back nine, she fired off three birdies on the front nine to close out her round.
Beatriz Barrios and Millie Cottrell are both competing in their first ACC Championship this weekend in North Carolina. Barrios is tied for 46th overall after a 4-over-par 76 after the opening 18 holes. Cottrell is tied for 59th overall after an 11-over-par 83.
