Cardinals Lose 5-1 in Game Two at Wake Forest

Louisville took its second straight loss in Winston-Salem.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The University of Louisville baseball team lost 5-1 on the road at No. 14 Wake Forest on Friday in Winston-Salem, N.C.
Louisville (14-9, 1-4 ACC) has now lost four straight in conference play.
Friday's game saw both starting pitchers controlling the game early with both teams being held off the scoreboard for the first five innings.
Evan Webster was excellent over the opening five frames, allowing just one hit while striking out five.
The scoreless contest came to an end with one swing in the sixth as Zion Rose hit his third home run of the season over the wall in left to give the Cardinals a 1-0 lead.
Webster exited after a leadoff walk in the sixth and Wake Forest (16-6, 4-4) cashed it in with a two-out RBI single that tied the game.
Wake Forest picked up another two-out run-scoring hit in the seventh to take its first lead of the game and tacked on two more runs with two outs in the inning. The Demon Deacons then added another run in the eighth for the final margin.
The three-game series wraps up on Saturday with first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m. ET.
