Cardinals Tally Sixth Consecutive Victory

Louisville picked up a 9-5 win over Youngstown State on Saturday.
Louisville (6-4) came up one run short of continuing its streak of consecutive games with double-digit runs, but the Cardinals have now scored 94 runs during the six-game run.
Evan Webster (1-0) was dominant on Saturday in his third start of the season. The left-hander worked a career-long six innings, keeping the Penguins off the scoreboard and tallying a career-best six strikeouts.
At the plate, the Cardinals spread the scoring out, plating a run in five of the eight innings they stepped in the box.
Eddie King Jr. brought home the first run with a groundout in the second inning before Michael Lippe and Gavin Kilen drove in runs in the third.
Lippe added his second run-scoring hit of the day in the fifth, with JT Benson driving one home in the sixth and a two-run single from Matt Klein gave the Cards a 7-0 advantage through six.
Louisville broke out the long ball in the seventh with Ryan McCoy going the other way for his first of the season and Logan Beard following with his second of the year.
The Cardinals carried a 9-0 advantage into the ninth inning before Youngstown State (0-8) pushed five runs across in the final frame.
Lippe and Brandon Anderson each had three to lead the Cards. Klein and Kilen notched a pair of hits as well.
Louisville and Youngstown State wrap up the three-game series on Sunday at 1 pm. ET.
