Cards Host No. 20 Clemson on Saturday

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's lacrosse team will host their second-straight ranked opponent in No. 20 Clemson this Saturday, March 16. The opening draw is scheduled to take place at 2 p.m. ET.
ABOUT THE CARDINALS
The Cardinals will continue conference play this weekend when they host No. 20 Clemson. Most recently, Louisville fell short in a 17-14 loss to No. 3 Boston College on Sunday. The Cards grabbed their first ACC win at Pitt (19-11) but dropped their first conference game of the season at home to Virginia Tech, 14-10.
The Cards have the 15th toughest schedule in the country and the fourth toughest schedule in the ACC. The IWLCA Rankings (as of March 11) feature six ACC teams and eight teams on Louisville's schedule that are in the top-25 nationally.
ABOUT THE TIGERS
Clemson took care of business and defeated Wofford 23-4, their biggest win margin yet this season, on Monday, March 11 in Spartanburg, S.C. The Tigers scored 17 unanswered goals, shutting the Terriers out for 43:37 minutes in the second half.
Claire Bockstie leads the Tigers in goals and points this season with 24 and 34, respectively. She ranks fifth in the ACC in total goals and seventh in points. Natalie Shurtleff leads with 11 assists, which is seventh in the ACC, and has 11 goals of her own. Clemson is leading the ACC in ground balls per game with 19.62 and is second in scoring offense and shots on goal per game. Goalkeeper Emily Lamparter is second in the ACC in save percentage (.462) and third in both saves (61) and saves per game (7.62).

Louisville is 0-1 all-time against Clemson with last season's meeting marking the first in the series. Clemson's inaugural season was in 2023.
KEY PLAYERS
Kokoro Nakazawa, a senior from Yokohama, Japan, has tallied 28 goals, 11 assists, and 39 points in the first eight games of 2024. She leads the team in all three categories. She is seventh in the ACC in assists (11), first in free position percentage (.786), fourth in goals (28), and fourth in points (39). Her 39 points ranks 10th nationally and her 28 goals ranks 14th nationally. The attacker has scored at least once in every game this season with at least three goals in seven of eight games.
Nicole Perroni is continuing to dominate halfway through the season. Through the first eight games, she has tallied 22 goals and five assists on 53 shots. She is second in the conference in caused turnovers per game with 2.38 and first in the ACC (sixth nationally) in free position goals per game with 1.38. Perroni scored three goals in the loss to Boston College, her 23rd career hat-trick. She tallied four goals each in the win at Pitt, against Virginia Tech, in the win over Marquette and against Colorado.
Sara Addeche has continued to guard the net through the first eight games of the season. She has recorded 79 saves and a .427 save percentage in 469:30 minutes at the net. She ranks first in the ACC and fourth nationally in saves and first in the conference in saves per game this season with 9.88. Addeche recorded her fifth game of the season with double-digit saves on March 10, tallying 10 against Boston College. This marks her 11th career game with 10 or more saves and adds to her 275 career-save total, which is fourth in program history.
