Cards Set to Host Crosstown Rival Bellarmine

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville women's team will host the Bellarmine Knights at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center on Friday, February 16 at 4 p.m. ET.Â

The Cardinals split their matches this weekend with a 1-6 loss to Marshall (8-2) and a 5-2 win over Furman (1-4). Louisville's lone point of the match against Marshall was the doubles point as Allie Gretkowski and Lika Persypkina won on court two, and Ibifuro Clement and Berta Miret won on court three. The Cardinals earned the doubles point for the second match of the day against Furman. The singles competition was highlighted by four wins by Jamilah Snells, Germany Davis, Peresypkina, and Gretkowski with Peresypkina's 7-6, 6-1 win on court three clinching the match for the Cards.Â

Bellarmine split their doubleheader on Saturday with a 1-6 loss to Murray State (4-1) and a 6-1 win over Tennesse State (0-7).The Knights dropped the doubles point to Murray State and was unable to rally, winning on three singles courts. Their second match of the day against Tennessee State is highlighted by wins on all three doubles courts to clinch the point for the Knights. Ekaterina Tikhonko, Marika Caruk, Vendula Kryslova, Yeva Kramarova, and Nikola Kollaritsch all earned wins on their singles courts to add to Bellarmine's margin of victory.Â
