Women's Tennis Set to Host Kennesaw State and Middle Tennessee

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville women's tennis team is set to host Kennesaw State and Middle Tennessee at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center for a doubleheader on Sunday, January 28.
Louisville will play Kennesaw State at 11 a.m. and will face Middle Tennessee at 4 p.m.
The Cardinals (1-0) began their season this weekend with a 6-1 win over in-state rival Eastern Kentucky. Louisville started the match by earning the doubles point with wins on all three courts. Elena Noguero, Lika Peresypkina, Germany Davis, Allie Gretkowski, and Lillian Mould all won their singles courts with Davis' win clinching the match for the Cardinals.
The first match of the doubleheader will be against Kennesaw State. The Owls have yet to begin their season and will play their first match on Friday against the University of Alabama at Birmingham before heading north to face the Cardinals on Sunday. The match will be the first time the two teams are facing off in program history.
MIddle Tennessee (2-1) picked up their second win of the season on Saturday with a 6-1 win over Chatanooga (1-2). The Blue Raiders took the doubles point, highlighted by a 6-3 win on court two. Sana Garakani, Cassidy Mataia, Ilaria Sposetti, and Lena Peyer all picked up wins on their singles courts, highlighted by Sposetti's win on court three in a three-set thriller to clinch the match for Middle Tennessee.

About the Blue Raiders:Â Middle Tennessee began their season 2-1 with a 4-3 win over Jacksonville State (1-2) and a 6-1 victory over Chattanooga (1-2). The Blue Raiders went 12-10 last season, falling 4-0 to Charlotte in the CUSA tournament to close out their year.
