LeBel, Svetanoff Collect Weekly Honors

The duo helped the Cardinals to a season-opening shutout of No. 16 Tulsa.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Following a season-opening shutout victory over No. 16 Tulsa, the University of Louisville men's soccer team collected a trio of honors.
Redshirt-freshman goalkeeper Alex Svetanoff was named the ACC Defensive Player of the Week in addition to earning a spot on the College Soccer News Men's National Team Of The Week.
Senior defender Bryce LeBel was also named to the TopDrawerSoccer Men's Team of the Week.
All three honors were for results through Sunday's matches, coming prior to Monday night's 3-0 win over Bellarmine.
Svetanoff and LeBel were both part of the Cardinals' strong defensive effort in the season opener, keeping Tulsa off the scoreboard over 90 minutes. Svetanoff turned away all six shots on target by the Golden Hurricane.
Louisville is off to a 2-0-0 start this fall and will head on the road for the first time Friday. The Cardinals take on UNC Greensboro with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.
