
Louisville Men’s Soccer Announces 2023 Schedule

The Cardinals open the season on August 24 against Tulsa at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Head coach John Michael Hayden and the University of Louisville men's soccer program have announced their schedule for the upcoming 2023 season.
The Cardinals slate features 16 matches, nine of which will be played at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium.
Louisville will play a pair of road exhibition matches at Lipscomb (Aug. 12) and Indiana (Aug. 18) before officially opening the regular season on Aug. 24 at home against Tulsa.
The Cardinals home schedule also features matches against in-state rivals Bellarmine (Aug. 28) and Kentucky (Sept. 5), non-conference contests against Kansas City (Oct. 2) and Ohio State (Oct. 10), and ACC tilts with Virginia Tech (Sept. 15), NC State (Sept. 24), Boston College (Oct. 13) and Wake Forest (Oct. 27).
Louisville will head on the road for out of conference matches at UNC Greensboro (Sept. 1), Evansville (Sept. 19) and Oakland (Oct. 17). The ACC schedule sends the Cardinals on the road to Syracuse (Sept. 8), Virginia (Sept. 29), Clemson (Oct. 6) and North Carolina (Oct. 22).
In total, Louisville's 2023 schedule features nine opponents that played in the NCAA Tournament in 2022, four of which reached the round of 16, including the reigning national champions in Syracuse. Eight of Louisville's opponents won at least 10 matches one season ago.
Hayden leads the Cardinals into the fall for his fifth season at the helm of the program. In four seasons, Hayden has guided Louisville to a 34-29-7 record with NCAA Tournament appearances in three of the four years.
The Cardinals put together a 9-6-3 record in 2022, earning a berth and home match in the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive season.
