
Tennis Places Five on All-ACC Academic Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The University of Louisville women's tennis team had five Cardinals named to the 2023 All-ACC Academic Team.Â
Andrea DiPalma, Sasha Gorchanyuk, Tyra Richardson, Jamilah Snells and CiCi Xin were a part of 86 tennis athletes named to the list. In addition, Duke's Chloe Beck was voted as the Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Tennis Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the second year in a row and highlights the 2023 All-ACC Academic Team announced Wednesday.
Beck finished the season as the No. 7 ranked singles player in the country in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings after posting a 33-5 singles record, including a 10-1 mark in ACC play.
Florida State led the ACC with nine selections on the Academic Team, followed by Notre Dame with eight and Virginia with seven.
The ACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year award was established in September 2007 to be awarded annually to the top junior or senior student-athlete in their respective sports. Academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0-grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. In addition, student-athletes must compete in at least 50 percent of their team's contests.
