Louisville will continue its four-game road swing at Virginia this weekend
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville softball will hit the road for a three-game Atlantic Coast Conference series at Virginia starting Friday.

• UofL brings a 29-14 overall record into the week after a 3-2 win at Western Kentucky in the final non-conference game of the season.
• In 42 games, the Cardinals have produced 10 shutouts and 10 wins via the eight-run rule.
• Louisville is batting .319 as a team with five players hitting above .300.
• Entering the week, Otis leads the ACC and tied for third in the nation with seven triples. She also paces the team with a .415 batting average, 56 hits, 25 walks and 51 runs.
• Korby Otis recently snapped a school-record on-base streak of 35 games in the 3-2 win at WKU. Overall, Otis has reached base via a hit or walk in all but two of Louisville's 42 games.

Head coach Holly Aprile is in her fifth season as UofL's head coach. During her time at the helm – which includes the COVID-19 impacted 2020 season, Aprile guided the Cardinals to 121 wins and an NCAA regional final appearance in 2019.
• Prior to her arrival at Louisville, Aprile, the 2018 ACC Coach of the Year spent 10 seasons (2009-18) as Pittsburgh's head coach and five years (2004-08) as an assistant. In 2018, she earned ACC Coach of the Year honors after leading the Panthers to the 2018 ACC Coastal Division title and a runner-up finish in the ACC tournament.

Series Record: Louisville leads 17-4
Last Meeting: April 29-May 1 - Louisville took two out of three games to win an ACC series at Ulmer Stadium. The Cards won series opener 5-4 with the Cavaliers taking game two 5-3. Louisville won the rubber-game 9-4.
Scouting the Cavaliers: Virginia enters the weekend with a 29-15 overall record and an 8-10 mark in ACC play to place sixth in the league standings. UVA is coming off of a 10-2 win over JMU on Tuesday.
• Last weekend, the Hoos went 1-2 at then-No. 4 Florida State. UVA fell 6-1 in the opener, but bounced back to take a 6-5 win to even the series before FSU registered an 8-0 win in the finale.
