Louisville Soccer Adds Orlando City Duo to 2023 Class
March 17, 2023 | Men's Soccer
Ethan Subachan and Chase Vazquez will join the Cardinals for the 2023 fall season.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men's soccer program and head coach John Michael Hayden have announced the signing of two more individuals for the 2023 signing class.
Ethan Subachan (Cooper City, Fla./Orlando City) and Chase Vazquez (Boca Raton, Fla./Orlando City) are the latest additions to Louisville's 2023 class and will join the program in the fall. The pair joins previously announced Elijah Brijbasi, Gaetano D'Argento and Gage Guerra, who are all on campus for the spring semester.
Subachan and Vazquez are both joining the Cardinals after spending time with Orlando City Academy. Subachan played with Orlando City from 2020-23 and helped them to the 2021 U17 MLS NEXT Cup final, winning 3-1 in penalties against Players Development Academy of New Jersey.
The same year, Vazquez helped lead Weston FC to the U16 MLS NEXT Cup where they defeated Tampa Bay United, 3-2. Vazquez was the tournament's top scorer, securing him the 2021 MLS NEXT Golden Boot. He then joined Orlando City in 2022 and is currently playing with Orlando City B.
Vazquez made a splash in his preseason debut with the First Team, subbing on in the second half of an exhibition against Stetson and netting a hat trick.
The 2023 signing class joins a Louisville program that went 9-6-3 in 2022, earning the program's 14th NCAA Tournament appearance and third under Hayden's leadership.
