The women’s 6K begins at 11:00 a.m. ET with the men’s 10K to follow at 12:00 p.m. ET.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville cross country teams will continue their postseason with the NCAA Southeast Regionals set to take place on Friday, Nov. 10 in Spartanburg, S.C. at Milliken Research Park.
The women's 6K will kick off the morning at 11:00 a.m. ET, while the men's squad will move up to the 10K distance for the first time this season with the men's race slated to begin at 12:00 p.m. ET.
Friday's regional, hosted by the University of South Carolina Upstate, stands as one of nine events taking place this weekend that will provide athletes with the opportunity to qualify for the 2023 NCAA Cross Country Championships in Charlottesville, Va. on Saturday, Nov. 18.
The top-two scoring teams in each regional will automatically qualify for the national meet with the first four individual finishers that do not belong to a qualifying team also receiving automatic bids. Following the conclusion of all nine regional meets, the NCAA DI Cross Country Subcommittee will select 13 at-large teams and two at-large individuals to round out the field in Charlottesville.
The Southeast Regional is made up of all Division I cross country programs from Kentucky, Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. The field will feature three nationally-ranked women's teams and five nationally-ranked men's squads, including both the NC State women and North Carolina men who captured ACC team championships two weeks ago.
The Cardinals will be looking to improve on their performance at last season's regional meet where the men placed 13th and the women placed 22nd.
