Cardinals Earn Third Straight Trip to NCAA Tournament

Louisville will host Dayton on Thursday in the opening round at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men's soccer program is headed to the NCAA postseason once again, earning an at-large berth on Monday afternoon.
The Cardinals will host Dayton on Thursday in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium.
This marks the 15th NCAA appearance in program history, all of which have come in the last 17 seasons. Louisville has qualified for the postseason in three consecutive years and four of five seasons under John Michael Hayden's leadership.
The 2023 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship culminates with the College Cup, which will be played at Lynn Family Stadium, home of Louisville City FC and Racing Louisville FC.
Louisville is 16-13-2 all-time in the NCAA Tournament. The Cardinals are 13-7-2 all-time in NCAA Tournament home matches and 6-5-1 inside Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium.
UofL has reached the NCAA quarterfinals on five occasions, tallying three straight trips from 2010-12 and consecutive appearances in 2016 and 2017. The Cardinals deepest tournament run concluded with a runner-up appearance in the College Cup in 2010.
Louisville posted an 11-5-3 overall record during the 2023 regular season and reached the semifinal round of the ACC Championship.
