The 2023 senior class will be honored prior to the game
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The University of Louisville women's soccer team is gearing up for their second to last home game of the regular season when they host Syracuse on Sunday afternoon at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium. Sunday's matchup will be Senior Day as the 2023 class will be honored prior to the game. It is also Alumni Day as all alumni are welcome back for Sunday's clash and they will be honored at halftime.
The Cardinals senior class to be honored prior to the game includes Caitlin Elam, Ravin Alexander, Morgan Bentley, Maddy Ellsworth, Emma Hiscock, Lucy Roberts and Autumn Weeks. The group has played over 100 games combined for the Cardinals in their careers and all had a big impact on the program.
The Cardinals and Orange will meet for the 10th time in program history on Sunday in a series that dates back to the 2006 season. The Cardinals lead the series 8-0-1 and they are 4-0-1 in games played in Louisville. In the five matches played in Louisville, the Cardinals have outscored the Orange 8-1 in those games.
The Cardinals defense has played well in their home games this season. In the eight home games this year, the Cardinals have allowed just nine goals and 37 shots on goal. All three of the Cardinals clean sheets this season have occurred at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium.
Following the Syracuse matchup, the Cardinals will go on the road for three-game road swing over the next two weeks.
