No. 4 Cardinals Set to Host Florida State and Miami

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The No.4-ranked University of Louisville volleyball team returns home this week to continue ACC play, first facing off against Florida State on Friday at 7 p.m., then matching up with Miami on Sunday at 1 p.m. at L&N Federal Credit Union Arena.

The Cardinals are 18-2 overall and 9-1 in the ACC, coming off a road trip that saw them defeat Wake Forest in a reverse sweep on Friday 21-25, 23-25, 25-15, 25-5, 15-7, followed by a four-set win over Virginia Tech on Sunday 25-19, 24-26, 25-11, 25-19. Outside hitter Charitie Luper led the way with 35 kills across the two matches, while adding three aces, 12 digs, and five blocks. Outside hitter Anna DeBeer recorded 22 kills, six aces, 21 digs, and a block, middle blocker Phekran Kong tallied 21 kills and eight blocks, and middle blocker Cara Cresse added 18 kills and 11 blocks. Libero Elena Scott had 35 digs on top of seven assists and two aces, while setter Elle Glock totaled 88 assists, two aces, and 12 digs.

About the Seminoles
Florida State is 15-7 overall and 9-1 in the ACC this season. They registered two home wins over the weekend, with a 25-17, 25-19, 25-18 sweep over Boston College on Friday followed by a 25-12, 26-24, 25-19 sweep over Syracuse on Sunday. The Seminoles have played top opponents tough, with two five-set losses to then-No. 3-ranked Florida and No. 11-ranked Georgia Tech. Head coach Chris Poole is in his 16th season at the helm, ranking as the second-winningest active Division I coach. He has guided the Seminoles to the NCAA Tournament in 13 of his 15 seasons, including 11 straight from 2009-2019. Miami is led by head coach Keno Gandara in his 11th season, notching back-to-back NCAA tournament appearances in the past two seasons. Outside hitter Flormarie Heredia Colon leads the team on the offensive end with 237 kills and outside hitter Angela Grieve is right behind her with 208 kills. Libero Naylani Feliciano anchors the defense with 175 digs, while the Hurricanes have six different players with 30+ blocks on the season.
