
Cardinals Send Three Swimmers and a Coach to Pan Am Games in Chile

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The University of Louisville swimming team is sending three athletes and a coach to the Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile. The Games begin Thursday, with swimming competing Saturday, Oct. 21 until Wednesday, Oct. 25.

Gabi Albiero (TeamUSA), Murilo Sartori (Brazil) and Matias Santiso (Argentina) will represent the Cardinals on the international stage.

Team USA is sending a roster of 36 American swimmers, and leading the team will be coaches Brent Arckey (Sarasota Sharks), Mark Bernardino (NC State), Stephanie Juncker (University of Louisville), Jeremy Linn (Nation's Capital Swim Club) and Jake Shrum (University of Virginia).

Gabi Albiero will compete in the 50M freestyle, Murilo will race the 200M free and Matias Santiso will swim both the 50M and 100M freestyle. All three are eligible to race relays as well. Â

The men's 200M Free heats will begin on Sunday, Oct. 22. The men's and women's 100M Free prelims will be held on Monday, Oct. 23 with the finals that evening. The men's and women's prelims in the 50M Free will being on Tuesday, Oct. 24 with finals that same night.
