Louisville Baseball Drops Final Game to Tigres Del Licey

The Cardinals lost 10-4 in their final game in the Dominican Republic.
JUAN DOLIO, Dominican Republic – The University of Louisville baseball team took a 10-4 loss in a 10-inning exhibition against Tigres del Licey in the final game of its trip to the Dominican Republic on Monday.
Squaring off against the reigning 2023 Caribbean Series champion, Louisville dug itself into an early hole with eight runs allowed over the first two innings.
However, the Cardinals rebounded and outscored Licey 3-2 over the next eight innings.
Parker Detmers, Colton Hartman, TJ Schlageter and Dan Snyder combined for seven scoreless innings with seven strikeouts out of the bullpen.
Dylan Hoy was 2-for-2 at the plate with a walk and an RBI. Trevor Amburgey homered for the second consecutive day, while Blane Schmitt added a double.
The Cardinals wrap up their international trip on Tuesday, with their arrival back in Louisville set for Tuesday evening.
