Cardinals Wrap Up Hoosier Classic

UofL collects more wins in Bloomington
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's tennis team ended play at the Hoosier Classic with seven wins on Saturday and two wins on Sunday.

On day two of the Hoosier Classic, the Cardinals opened the day with four wins at singles. Freshman Jamilah Snells won because Muskan Gupta from Middle Tennessee State University retired. Sasha Gorchanyuk defeated Cara Szilasi from MTSU 6-2, 6-2. Arielle Nealy defeated Laura Sola Grau from Northern Kentucky 6-1, 6-1. Tyra Richardson defeated Ananya Kothakota from NKU 6-3, 6-0.

UofL notched three wins in doubles. The duo of Snells and Cici Xin finished 2-0 against Indiana (6-1) and Xavier (6-3). Veterans Joy Callwood and Nealy picked up a win against NKU (6-2).

On the final day of the Hoosier Classic, UofL recorded two wins in singles. Richardson beat Abby Nugent from Xavier 6-3, 6-2. Nealy won when Paulina Franco Martinessi from Xavier retired.

The Cardinals head to Morgantown, West Virginia to compete in the West Virginia Invitational on October 6.
