Louisville to face second Top-10 opponent this week
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — The University of Louisville women's soccer team is back in action and another top-10 matchup awaits. The Cardinals are set to take on second-ranked Virginia on Sunday afternoon in Charlottesville. The match will kick off at 2 p.m. ET and will be streamed on the ACC Network Extra.
This is set to be the second of three-straight games away from home for the Cardinals as they are on their second road trip of the season. So far in 2022, Louisville is 2-1-1 away from home and 1-1 against ranked opponents on the road. This will be the first time since 2019 that the Cardinals face two top-10 opponents within the same week. Through just eight games, she leads the team with four goals, three assists and 11 points. She has scored in back-to-back games twice this season and tallied at least a point in six of the eight games. Of the 10 goals the Cardinals have scored, Whitsett has been involved, directly or indirectly, in eight of them.
